Knowing that I had a business meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, I used the spare day I had allowed for getting over the 15 hr journey,

and the time clock difference to get out into the surrounding country.

 

I really only had the one day, so drove east out of Mesa, and then round and down to the western part of the Saguaro Monument.

 

The roads weren’t all surfaced, and the huge Lincoln that I’d been given as a free upgrade didn’t seem to like washboarded roads very much.

 

However, it did the job, and this day served as a great prelude to the series of business meetings.
